Dear Friends of #FreePeterMax,
While many people know the names Peter Max and Britney Spears, the most frequent victims of guardianship abuse are people you know. It is our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, children and friends who are the victims of a broken, corrupt, and predatory system.
It is almost impossible to fight back against the entrenched and well-oiled system of lawyers, court-appointed guardians, doctors, and judges, who work together to target our most vulnerable citizens for the purpose of financial exploitation. And even if you have the financial means and emotional fortitude to legally fight, who do you turn to when it's the judges themselves enabling the abuse?
Since launching the #FreePeterMax campaign, we have been contacted by countless loved ones of victims and victims themselves. We invite you, too, to share your story if you or a loved one has been affected by guardianship or conservatorship abuse. We are stronger together. We hope to educate the public, apply pressure to elected officials, and shine a light on the dark underbelly of this demonstrably broken system.
